Sing

Sing is an Musical animation film starring (well voices of) Matthew McCouaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C Reilly, Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly. It features loads of songs though not all complete tracks.

Buster Moon (McCouaughey) is a theatre owner which is facing financial ruin and comes up with a Singing competition to try and raise some funds and was going to offer $1000 prize money but his assistant Ms Crawley (Garth Jennings) mistakenly adds two extra zeros so the posters/flyers say $100,000. Animals from all over city turn up to audition and you see a selection play hits, Buster then decides the finalist including Rosyth (Witherspoon), Johnny (Egerton), Ash (Johansson) and Mike (MacFarlane). Meena (Kelly) bombs her audition as suffers from stage fright ends up being a stage hand.

There is a lot of songs whilst we see the rehearsals and when Busters arranges a preview for Nana Noodleman to borrow the prize money he goes overboard arranging tanks full of luminescent squids as lighting for the stage, the tanks break during the preview and destorys the theatre, the property is then claimed by the bank as Buster has no funds to repair it. The contestants visit Buster to try and get him to go ahead with the show and after hearing Meena sing he agrees and presudes Meena to sing in the show too. The show is a Hugh success and Nana buts the Theatre lot and they rebuild the theatre.

This a very good film and suitable for all ages and you will be tapping your feet through out, I was impressed by the vocals as wouldn’t say Witherspoon, MacFarlane and Johansson were known for singing and Tori Kelly voice for Meena was outstanding and I loved the mixture of tracks. Go and see.
