Review

The 8th film in the franchise following on from Furious 7, the film starts of in Cuba but takes in Berlin, New York City and Russia and moves further away from the Heist films of the last couple. Brian and Mia having retired from the gang to live a family life with their kids in Furious 7 and Dom and Letty now married an don their honeymoon in Cuba, it seems normal life is on the horizon but one day in Cuba Dom is stopped by a young woman who blackmails Dom in to saying he will help her and says he will betray his family for her and then shows Dom a video clip. Hobbs managing his daughters football team is approached by a Government agent to send him on an unofficial mission and calls Dom to get the team back together. During the Mission Dom goes Rogue and form up with Cipher (young woman who showe him the video clip). Petty (Kurt Russell) brings Hobbs and Shaw together even if they’re trying to kill each other and this starts a new adventure for the team to get Dom back and to stop Cipher.

The stunts and chases are as normal amazing and silly at the same time, and the way the auto drive cars are used are scary and genius in equal measures. The plot of what’s on the video will soon see and something we didn’t expect though is hinted at the beginning of the film though we don’t see the video, which leads to part of the ending where Shaw (Jason Statham) makes a rescue from a plane (won’t mention who as ruins the film) which is probably 1 the best scene/action of the film and 2 the most funniest part too.

Fast and Furious fans won’t be disappointed though at time the film misses Brian and Mia just to be something different but there is a lot of muscle of show with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham joining forces but all three softer side is shown during the 139 minutes. I’m already looking forward to the next installment and I think bringing in of Ramsey to stay with the crew after her appearance in the last episode will be good for the franchise.

Rating:- 8/10 – it’s Fast and Furious, maybe not one for people that have not seen the others but to me a must watch.
